Project Description
Contextually the Project site is Located on a very busy Traffic Corridor and Prime location. Interestingly the Building would not only be perceived from the High way on Ground level but also visible clearly from an elevated Flyover connecting the Bangalore city and Electronic City, a buzzling IT hub. With a linear and a Trapezoidal Site, the client was very clear in his expectations. The Project being commercial in Nature, the Design needed to address the fact that the Building should make its presence felt and wanted the architecture to be very Progressive. The client as developer keen on using products that are refreshing, responsive and make a statement with this Project.
As a response to the brief, the context was thoroughly utilized. The shape of the site did help in structuring an assertive form. With the site located in a heavy Traffic corridor, the External form, the building lines and Envelope was conceptualized as the FORM FROZEN in a particular frame of motion. Visually as well as climatically the built form was conceptualized inside out. Green balconies and terraces were introduced intentionally. From Internal user perspective, the green balconies in lower levels would give a break from the constant vision of Traffic, heat and dust. Externally instead of only Glass, plaster and metal the view of Green would add as a relief.
The plans were a typical open plan with the Circulation core situated in a centralized zone, which would help reconfiguring the building plan into various portions to suit the clients requirement of a Flexible rental space.
Inevitably the Main façade of the building was facing South and west attracting the Heat. These facades also needed Max visibility as part of the tenant Requirement. Hence deep projections, inclined façade lines and other façade elements were introduced to cut the heat and reduce the load on the Air conditioning. Green balconies and Terraces were introduced to help the purpose.
